Looking Back on 2025: Gratitude, Miracles, and Real Estate Opportunities

Eloise Middleton • January 8, 2026

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and I pray you will have an amazing New Year's Day and a joyful 2026.

As we look back at 2025, and I think of all that's happened in the last 12 months, 52 weeks and 365 days, my first thought is still gratitude. I'm thankful that I've made it this far, and even though I haven't accomplished all of my goals or checked off all the items on my to-do list, I still have opportunities ahead.

At the Eloise Middleton Real Estate Group, as you may have noticed, we've made a change to our team's name. This wasn't by choice, but due to changes in state regulations, we had to comply. However, it's not about the name—it's about the service. And we stand by our tagline:

"Selling Real Estate is What We Do, and Service is Who We Are."

So, if you are looking to buy, sell, or invest in real estate this year—or if you know family, friends, colleagues, or clients who need a strategic local agent—we're here to help with white glove service. Whether they're a first-time buyer, luxury client, downsizing, or navigating a trust or probate real estate sale, we'll handle them with care and professionalism.

Reflections on December

The month of December can bring a range of emotions—frustrations, anxieties, happiness, tears of joy, tears of sadness, and laughter. I choose to focus on the tears of joy and the laughter. It's easy to dwell on the negative: the things you don't have, the trips you didn't take, the food you didn't get to enjoy. But think of this—there is so much we have to be thankful for: the breath in our bodies, the movement of our limbs, the gift of being alive.

I often think of my nephew, who has been a quadriplegic since he was 17 years old. He is now 40. Whenever I go home to North Carolina to visit, I stay with him and his mom, my sister. He never complains. He's taught himself many things without the physical ability that I have. To me, that's amazing. If you'd like to know more about his story, please reach out. He is just one miracle in my life. I've been blessed to experience many others—and I pray I get to experience more. Don't you?

That being said, please stay safe, be cautious, and look for opportunities to be a blessing to someone—you just might be the miracle they need.
