Can you believe we’re already halfway through 2025? June has been a full and beautiful month of celebrations, connections, and reflections for me.

We started the month celebrating over four family birthdays — including my bonus daughters, my dear mother-in-law who turned 95, and several beloved friends and family members. And of course, we honored all the incredible fathers for Father’s Day. I also want to acknowledge the mothers who’ve taken on both roles, and all the family members who step in with love and support — we appreciate you!

I thought of my own father, who passed away 31 years ago. He was an entrepreneur, and though I didn’t know exactly what kind of business I’d pursue as a child, I knew I wanted to serve others — just like he did. His spirit of independence and purpose still inspires me today. And speaking of independence, we celebrated Juneteenth in full blast.

Some more of the highlights of my month was attending the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) conference in Las Vegas. It was an incredible experience where I met some amazing people — including Valorie Burton, bestselling author of six books on personal development. And of course, you can’t go to Vegas without seeing a show! We caught All Motown, a powerhouse performance by talented women singing classics from Etta James to Michael Jackson — pure joy.

After returning home, I jumped right into our Bay Area-Wide Revival, where I had the privilege of hearing two of the most dynamic pastors in the country: Rev. Tolan Morgan and Rev. F.D. Sampson Sr. Their messages fed my soul and truly put the cherry on top of an already fulfilling month.
